A Trip to Chesterfield

Good evening,

Today I had the pleasure of accompanying my Nan and Mum to Chesterfield. We joined my brother Ben, and treated my Nan to an Afternoon Tea for her 80th.

We visited a wonderful café 'Blu Bistro and Bar'. I can thoroughly recommend them, it was in a great location, with a great ambience and friendly staff.

They could not have been more accommodating... upon learning it was a birthday present; our table was scattered with confetti and they placed candles in the cakes! My Nan was most impressed, and it was lovely to see how much effort they had gone to, just to make the day extra special.

From there we then headed to the famous crooked spire. Word is that the spire was made of wood and therefore over the years has become more and more crooked!

The weather had started to clear up and it was looking to be a sunny afternoon. As it was a Sunday, many shops were closed, but we found an M&S for Nan. After some very savvy shopping, and an excellent spot from Ben, she left with a trendy kimono.

The Artisan Market had some great stalls, from local cheese to handmade jewellery. I love markets and had to refrain from buying everything in sight!!

Overall we had a fantastic day. It's always fun to see Ben, and it was even better sharing the day with my Nan.
